Future value of a 401(k) with your contributions, your employer's match and investment growth. Results update as you type.
Your monthly contribution is your salary times your contribution percentage, divided by twelve, plus the employer match the same way. The balance grows monthly at the annual return divided by twelve, with the contribution added each month.

Many employers add money to your 401(k) based on what you contribute, for example 50 cents for each dollar you put in up to a limit. It is part of your compensation, so contributing at least enough to get the full match is usually the first priority.
